I have brought back Trend Tuesday because I think it’s important to know that trends are always changing. Whether you and I like these trends will be another story.
Jeans are a staple in everyone’s wardrobe, but this fall jeans denim is taking all kinds of new shapes and sizes. The most exciting denim trend is the Frankenstein jeans.
Frankenstein jeans is the name I use to describe the patchwork denim trend that has been happening. The idea is not just throwing patches on denim (although that is also a trend). This trend melds two different washes of denim together on one pair of pants using different seams and distressing. Since this is the same process Frankenstein went through I figure it is a pretty perfect name.
It’s something fresh that we haven’t seen like this in a while. As we know, fashion trends are cyclical and that means everything comes back in style eventually. However, I feel like denim trends haven’t changed that much because everyone loves their skinny jeans. This new trend just feels like something new. It is a new way to play with different lines and silhouettes and this trend can be interpreted in a different wash with different fits. The possibilities are endless.
Patchwork jeans are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to upcoming denim trends and I am excited to see some new looks this fall using this trend.
