When it comes to fall I am obsessed with layering. This outfit is one of my go-to layering outfits. It is simple and relaxed look, while still playing with proportion in an interesting way.

I love wearing loose dresses over jeans because it lengthens my silhouette in the same way a high waisted pant would, while still getting a fashion forward look. This is the perfect look if you are trying to lengthen the body and look super tall.

I usually style my dress over straight fit jeans because skinny jeans end up looking like you’re wearing denim tights under your dress. I also like a more causal jean like a frayed hem or a little distressing because it makes my more polished shirt dress look a little more casual.

When it comes to transitional weather I like to stick with flats and loafers, but boots would also look cute with this outfit. Whatever shoes you end up choosing I would got with a pair that has a pointed toe. The pointed toe elongates the legs to balance out the long top.
If you do end up going with a boot I would stick to an ankle height or just below the knee. Any other shaft height might cut the leg in a strange spot, throwing off the proportion. The exception to this is if your pant and your boot are both black because the transition will be almost undetectable. This will make your legs look even longer!

What are your thoughts on this fall transitional look? Would you wear this? Let me know in the comments.
