I know it’s a cheesy title, but fortunately for me it’s somewhat fitting. As New Year’s Day came and went, I forced myself to contemplate my life. I needed to figure out if I was truly happy with the decisions I made in 2015. Most of those decisions worked out, but I’d really like to make some changes for the better in 2016. Starting with this.
I begin a new chapter of accountability. I am the only one who can change my circumstances and make things happen. With this in mind, I’ve made a list of goals or priorities for 2016 as many people do. Beyond that, I’m also trying to understand what exactly I needed to do to make them successful. I had attempted to accomplish some of these goals before and ended up failing, but this time I am determined to find what caused those failures and try a different approach. With this comes something that is scary for most, including myself—I am trying to learn. I find that learning is scary because doing something you’re not good at sucks. When you are learning something new, you’re usually not good at it and let’s just say that’s not exactly a confidence builder. But I’ve come to know that anyone can learn anything. I don’t care who you are you can learn something new if you practice and put your heart into it. That’s what I have been trying to do.
In regards to the blog I am going to be trying to post once or twice a week because I want to make sure I am able to create quality content. I want to schedule things so if I work late or have plans the blog posts will still go up at the same time.
I want to keep doing Outfits of the Week because I love those posts, and you guys seem to as well. I’ll just have to work on the timing of that too and figure out the Outfits the Week beforehand, which actually might help me with my daily routine as well.
I am considering starting my own Youtube channel. I have always loved editing videos for classes and such, and I think I can offer a unique perspective in my videos. No progress on that yet, just an idea I would like to pursue this year.
Other goals I have this year are a little more mundane. I want to get in shape, partially because I want to look good, but I also miss running regularly. When I first got out of college I ran three times a week, and it was the best I’d ever felt, but the last thing I want to do after I get home these days in run outside in the cold.
I also want to be more organized, which isn’t difficult at first, but it’s not so easy to stay organized. I’d like to be able to put things back in their rightful place after I use them.
I have a few more goals, but those are bit more personal.
I just feel like as I grow older the years become more and more exciting and special. 2015 was no different, with my first adventure to IMATS with my friend Sadie, moving out on my own, and my first trip with just my boyfriend and I traveling across the U.S. Needless to say, I feel how everyone feels as a new year begins. Hopeful. I hope this year will be better, happier, and more exciting than the last.
Tell me some of your New Year’s’ Resolutions and what you are looking forward to this year.
