It’s August, and I truly cannot believe the year is more than half over. I feel like 2015 just started! I know that’s cliche, but as you get older I suppose you start to realize how quickly life moves. Anyway, now that I have given you one deep insight for the month… on to the favorites!
Neutrogena Clear Pore Mask/Cleanser
I don’t know what has been going on the past month, but my skin has been breaking out worse than ever. So I’ve tried a few masks and products I’ve already had and nothing has been working. Then I thought about the last time my skin was actually very clear, and it was when I had used this Neutrogena face wash. When I had used it all up, I just replaced it with something else, but next time it runs out, I’ll be getting six more tubes because this stuff really works! It’s a face wash and a mask. If you need a really deep clean you can use the mask, and the face wash can be used for everyday. It’s quite tingly due to the 3% of salicylic acid, but don’t worry, it won’t burn. At least it didn’t on me, and I have pretty sensitive skin. The best part is probably the price: it’s under $10! Only by a penny, but it’s still under ten.
Calvin Klein Sandals
I feel bad even talking about these because I got them at a sample sale and I’m pretty sure they don’t exist anymore. I have looked everywhere, but here’s a similar pair. I have been wearing these nonstop because they are super comfortable. They also have a small heel, so when I wear them to work, it looks like I actually tried!
Sia album 1000 Forms of Fear
You’ve probably heard all her hits: Chandelier, Elastic Heart, and Bulletproof (her collaboration with David Guetta). I love all of those songs so I thought it was time to listen to the whole album 1000 Forms of Fear. It’s weird and different: besides her powerful voice and interesting lyrics, it’s nothing like what’s on the radio except for her powerful voice and interesting lyrics. Every song has a different tone and a different story. I think if you like to listen to a bunch of different types of music, you will enjoy listening to this. I’m trying to think of someone to compare her to, but I’m drawing a blank. If you’ve already heard this album. share your thoughts in the comments and tell me what your favorite song is!
Covergirl Super Sizer mascara
After seeing all the hype for this mascara, I needed to try it. And who can really say no to a name like Super Sizer? I really like the wand—it gives a lot of control over the lashes. The result is fairly natural looking lashes with a good amount of volume. This mascara is good for days when I’m not wearing much make up, which in the summer is just about every moment I’m not at the office.
Z Palette
I got my first Z Palette this month. I know, don’t judge! I’d been considering it for a few months, but I never felt that I had enough makeup to put in. But after doing a bit of research about how to depot, I put a few shadows from my Wet & Wild eight-pan palettes in Petal Pusher, Comfort Zone and four Tarte amazonian clay blushes. It’s pretty handy and makes me use more of those products since they’re not hiding deep in my collection anymore. I would suggest doing research before attempting to de-pot: Tarte blushes are easy (as I mentioned), but the wet & wild palettes were a bit of a challenge. If you want a more detailed post on my depotting experience let me know!
Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick in Bluffing
I have been using this nonstop since I bought it. It’s a champagne shimmer that’s great as a base for many of my looks. The formula is very creamy and it blends so easily when applying! That said, I am still not sure if I can sharpen these things, and if I can’t, that might be a problem. I also have the shade Bad Girl Bronze, and I love that shade as well, but Bluffing has been it for me this month.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner
When I first bought this I had mixed feelings about it, since my eyes water a lot and this says it’s waterproof, but it’s really not. Nevertheless, it does save time. I use this every time I am in a rush, and it makes it easy to apply my eyeliner precisely and quickly without having to go over it a million times or really take my time like I have to with regular liquid liner.
H&M Shirt dress
The shirt-dress trend is right up my alley. They are just classic, comfortable, and versatile for work or a picnic. H&M is my go-to for trendy pieces because they offer pretty good quality for the price, and they have many styles to choose from. I bought this dress a few sizes too big because I wanted a really relaxed silhouette ( I bought a size 12 when I usually wear a 8 in their dresses), and I am in love with it! I would wear it every day if I could. It is definitely a new wardrobe staple.
